Enemies
When we pray these Psalms we remember it is not the
enemies of our personal conflict spoken of here but the enemies that are
against God’s cause. The prayer for the vengeance of God is the prayer for His
execution of righteousness in the judgment of sin. God’s judgment against sin
(death) must be made public if God’s word is to stand. I too as a sinner must
come under judgment. Jesus Christ himself requested the execution of God’s
wrath on his body – This evidence how grave sin is. It evidences His love for
