Results of Fasting and Prayer


  1. Through fasting, one consecrate and dedicated him/her self to God.

  • Jesus Christ the Son of the living God was on consecration fast during the 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness (Luke 4:1-2)
  • Moses consecrated himself through 40 days and 40 nights fasting during the time he met with god on mount Sinai (Ex:34:28). In another occasion, Moses fasted for 40 days and nights on behalf of Israel and God reverse His decision (Deu 9:18-20)
  1. Elijah after being ministered to by an angel in the wilderness, consecrated, dedicated and prepared himself with 40 days and 40 nights fasting to meet with God at Mount Horeb (1 King 19:8)
  2. Fasting fortifies our prayer to destroy the works of the enemy and gain victory over them. (2 Chron 20:3, 4:27)
  3. Through fasting, we can seek God’s guidance and protection from danger. (Ezra 8:21-23)
  4. Through fasting, we can experience healing and restoration (Neh 1:4, 2:8)
  5. Through fasting, we can intercede for our nation (Esther 4:15-16)
  6. Through fasting, we obtain favour through the divine favour of God. (Esther 5:1-4)
  7. Through fasting, we can see and experience the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Acts 10:30-48)
  8. Through fasting, we can be delivered from danger (Acts 27:33-36, 44)
  9. Through fasting, we can walk in a greater spiritual dimension and fellowship with God.
  10. Through fasting, we can receive knowledge through revelation.
  11. Through fasting, we will be able to fight and win great spiritual battles.
  12. Through fasting, we can have power to intercede on behalf of our families and nations.
  13. Through fasting, we can see healing and restoration come to the body of Christ.
  14. Through fasting, we persevere in the spirit and execute judgment upon the devil
